Meet Peter Howard.

He and his wife Debbie have been married for over 40 years, and have been living in Calgary for over 18 years.

Shortly after moving to Calgary, Peter was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

Debbie has been in and out of hospitals for the past 9 years due to a devastating car accident. Most recently she has been in the hospital for the past 16 months.

Though Debbie has been making a remarkable recovery and is nearly ready to come home, Peter's own disabilities and accessibility issues in their home may force Debbie to move into an assisted living facility.

Hearts and Hammers wants to help Howard and Debbie live together as independently and for as long as possible.

We plan to renovate their Mckenzie Towne home. This will include:

  • installation of hard-surface flooring
  • cabinet repairs
  • support bars in the bathroom
  • better storage
  • new paint and baseboards

How Can You Help?

We're now recruiting sponsors who can assist with completing the estimated $40,000 renovation through the donation of materials or funds.
